The creation of Centres of Excellence in thrust areas of management is a consequent strategy to make them "peaks of excellence" on the plateau of management research and education. A Centre of Excellence is understood to be an institutionalization of the best practices in the academic pursuit of knowledge in a given area; professional development through multi-skill acquisition; integration of knowledge and professionalism resulting in effective deployment of both to serve the changing needs of industry; and those in the promotion of ethical and social values that govern all.
