LIBA partners with TVS Logistics to train fresh graduates
Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) awarded management certificates to employees from TVS Logistics Services Limited (TVS LSL) today in a special graduation ceremony. TVS LSL’s CEO, R Shankar and Father Christie, Director, LIBA were present at the event.
The programme has been exclusively designed by LIBA in collaboration with TVS LSL to cater to the specific requirements of the logistics industry. Twenty fresh engineering graduates selected by the company participated in the customised, one-year logistics management programme. This initiative is part of LIBA’s plans to scale up its collaboration with industries.
LIBA has been actively involved in educating working professionals since 1979. The two-year full time management diploma was introduced in 1995. LIBA’s Management Development Centre (MDC) also offers a one-year executive programme in management and short courses for working executives.
Sridhar Ganesh, the chairperson of MDC, is in talks with a number of other companies to develop customised management programmes for different industries.
“With the rapid development of technology, industries are compelled to groom their employees to handle fresh challenges continuously. We are developing industry-specific management courses to enhance employee skills and adaptability to handle such challenges successfully,” said Father Christie, Director, LIBA.
The customised management programme for TVS Logistics is focused on supply-chain management. The current batch of 20 students from TVS Logistics, called ‘The Pelikans’, joined the programme in September 2015 and graduated in October 2016. The company has already selected the next group of 20 engineering graduates for the 2016-17 batch. The course includes live projects for each candidate to be conducted at the workplace.
The programme for TVS LSL includes subjects such as warehouse management, supply chain network design and management, sourcing and supply, transportation and operations management and others.
R Shankar, CEO of TVS LSL India said, “At TVS Logistics we believe that investing in our employees is investing in the future of our business.
