“We make a living by what we learn, but we make a life by what we give.”
Radius is an invisible chord connecting mankind and God. It is a social service initiative started by LIBA students in 2009, which awakes in our conscience a responsibility towards mankind. This initiative helps us realize the true meaning of life amidst the chaos of a consumerist rat race, where we find ourselves, most often than not, chasing materialistic goals in a mercilessly competitive world. Radius helps us put things in perspective, whereby we understand that the greater satisfaction comes from Gratitude and Empathy. With this goal in mind, we raise funds to donate to various orphanages and homes. Our major contribution towards their well-being includes both financial (approx. 25,000Rs a year) and emotional support. This is what we pursue, ensuring that we spread joy and happiness no matter where we go and what we do…
A Blessed Visit
Monthly visits to various homes and orphanages are organized which gives us inner peace, immense satisfaction, thought provoking insights into life which makes us grateful for the gifts God has given us and makes us more accountable regarding our relationships with people and changes in the society that we live in.
Blood Donation Campaign
“Hospitals have heard more sincere prayers than any other holy places of worship over the world.”
We conduct a blood donation campaign every year to donate blood to Chennai Adyar Cancer Institute. This is because we staunchly believe that this is one of the youth’s sole responsibility and duty towards society. To restore lost faith in mankind and ensure that humanity is still alive via this gesture, gives hope to many affected families and homes. To them our donation of 300ml of blood is like a boon of second life from heaven.
Joy of Giving Week
“A loving heart is the beginning of all knowledge” – Thomas Carlyle
Festivals are joyful because we celebrate it with family, but we at LIBA celebrate it in an even bigger and better way, because we have a much larger family. For a week we forget our world and enjoy life to its fullest and celebrate Christmas with our siblings and grandparents from various homes and orphanages with much pomp and grandeur. Some emotions can’t be expressed in words it can just be felt, the smiles we see across people’s faces explain to us the true value of love, affection and beauty of life all within a fraction of a second.
“The meaning of life is to find your gift; the purpose of life is to give it away” – Joy J Golliver
