The speaker for today's BMI session was Mr. Mohit Pant, Head of PayPal Global Analytics Centre in India and the topic was " Digital Payment Landscape in India - The Works". He gave us deep insights on how the ecosystem is conducive for digital payment platforms in India. India is becoming a digital country and the vision of NPCI; Presenceless, Paperless, Cashless and Consentless are favouring the growth of this market and around 120 players are competing with each other in India. There has been a dramatic shift in the transaction profile of Banks and payment via UPI grew upto 47%. UPI is the driving force and Google pay is driving the UPI itself contributing upto 59.75% of transactions. He also explained about the USP of PayPal as an unrivalled two sided platform with Global Presence, guaranteeing payments and preventing frauds. Melting candles resembling sacrifice and burning lamps resembling sustainability, the auditorium of LIBA was dimly lit with candles and lamps setting the ambience for the retreat. The retreat was led by the Director, Fr. Joe Arun with the students and faculties taking part in it. The retreat was titled as 'Sound of Silence' where everybody in the LIBA campus had to maintain silence throughout the retreat. The retreat and the meditation was centered around the ideology of relationship and happiness. The faculties and the students had a session where everyone had to introspect and share their insights. The retreat also had a prayer session where the gathering prayed for each and every student and faculty.
