E-waste Awareness to Action Campaign and 3R Collection Drive
The Centre for Sustainability Excellence at LIBA conducted the E-Waste Awareness to Action Campaign on 15th November 2025, with Ms. Vishaka Jha (F25) as Master of Ceremonies. As part of its commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and responsible citizenship, the session aimed to raise awareness about the hazards of e-waste, introduce the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) concept and launch a campus-wide e-waste collection drive. Dr. P. Vasumathi, Chair – Centre for Sustainability Excellence, highlighted the environmental and health risks of improper disposal, while Mr. Ricko Anand, Network System Engineer, linked historical examples to modern challenges posed by heavy metals in discarded electronics. A video presentation of a certified recycling facility showcased safe e-waste management, followed by the community taking the “E-Waste Responsibility Pledge.” The campaign successfully engaged faculty, staff, and students, fostering mindful consumption, responsible disposal and a strengthened culture of sustainability aligned with LIBA’s Jesuit ethos of care for our Common Home.
