Faculty Seminar Series (FSS) # 10

The tenth Session of the Faculty Seminar Series (FSS) held on 13^th February 2025 had Dr. Sivakumar speaking on the topic “Industrial Symbiosis Network for Circular Production Systems.” He discussed the circular economy, emphasizing the shift from linear production models to sustainable alternatives, and highlighted challenges like inefficient resource use and waste generation. Dr. Sivakumar explained Industrial Symbiosis (IS), where industries exchange materials, waste, energy, and water, benefiting from cost reduction, improved productivity, and better environmental performance. The session also addressed barriers to IS adoption, including regulatory and technological challenges.
