Feast Day Celebrations: St. Ignatius of Loyola our founder
LIBA celebrated the feast of St Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of Jesuit society this year also on 30th July 2019. The celebrations began with Eucharist in the morning and concluded with a function in the evening. Against the back drop of Universal and Provincial Apostolic Preferences and Priorities on which the Jesuits work on, all the talks by Fr Rector, Fr Director, and Dr Gabriel Melchias, Deputy Principal focuses on magis (Excellence), the Ignatian value. That is also the motto of LIBA. Faculty, Staff, and Students were introduced to the Founder’s legacy and values. Fr Joe Arun SJ, Director said that whenever we remember the past we become a member again, re-member, relive the past that reorganises the present.
Staying on the same line Dr Melchias in his feast day message said that he had learnt many values that make a Jesuit institution a different from others. In his blessings, Fr Rector said that the Saint had laid bare what a Jesuit should be ready to do anything for mission. The whole day was filled with moments of grace.
