FSS #5
On 7th November 2024, the fifth session of the Faculty Seminar Series (FSS-05) was held at LIBA’s Learning Gallery 4. Dr. Ameeta Fernando, presented on, “AI Captain: A Framework for AI Dependency,” exploring the complex relationship between human intelligence and artificial intelligence (AI). She discussed the extent to which AI can mimic human cognitive abilities, touching on aspects like intuition, emotions, and genetic traits, and highlighted AI’s unpredictability, including its tendency to “hallucinate” unexpected outcomes. Dr. Ameeta introduced two 2×2 frameworks for AI adoption: one assessing task criticality versus human intervention, and the other evaluating the timing of AI implementation. Audience feedback included questions from Dr. Anjali Daisy about advanced techniques like Convolutional Neural Networks, and about adding a third dimension to the framework from Dr. Akanksha Jaiswal, which Dr. Ameeta explained would follow data collection.
