QUALIFICATION & SPECIALIZATION : Ph.D in Information Technology/Management from the Loyola Institute of Business Administration/University of Madras, M.S in Software Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS), Pilani, B.Sc in Physics from Stella Maris College, Chennai

Experience in Teaching / Practice / Industry / Research : 17 years of Teaching experience/close to 6 years of Industry experience

Dr. Ameeta Fernando is an Assistant Professor in the Business Analytics area at the Loyola Institute of Business Administration. Her Masters is in Software Engineering from BITS, Pilani. Prior to joining academia, she was with Wipro Technologies (Bangalore/Chennai) for close to 6 years. She has contributed to Wipro Technologies as System Engineer and later as a Module leader in E-Business (Middleware-XML/XSLT) projects and was involved in the Development, Testing and Quality Assurance projects of clients such as Ceridian (UK), Daiwa (Japan) and Best Buy (US). She has been teaching IT related courses for the past 17 years in LIBA, AIMA, BITS/Wipro and NSE. She holds a Doctorate in IT/Management (A Study on Phishing in Indian banks and the Efficiency of the Counter-Measures) from LIBA. She is also a ‘Singer for a cause’, a motivational speaker, an entrepreneur and a social worker.
