Workshop on Formulation of Course Outline and Course Outcome Attainment Calculation
The Workshop on “Formulation of Course Outline and Course Outcome Attainment Calculation,” organized by LIBA-IQAC on 19th November 2024, aimed to assist faculty in creating structured course outlines and assessing course outcomes. Dr. P. Vasumathi’s session focused on aligning course objectives with Program Outcomes (POs) and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles, highlighting the importance of Bloom’s Taxonomy and targeting higher cognitive levels (K3 and above) for effective learning. She also encouraged refining course structures and setting clear, measurable outcomes. In the second session, Prof. M. Ramasubramaniam, Controller of Examinations (CoE), suggested assessing course outcomes (COs) through specific benchmarks and demonstrated practical tools, such as an Excel method and a Streamlit App for CO attainment calculation. Both sessions reinforced the importance of aligning course objectives with program goals and using measurable assessments to track progress.
