INAUGURAL SESSION
His Highness The Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali is the eldest son of the Nawab Ghulam Mohammed Abdul Khader, the late Prince of Arcot and is the eighth and present Prince of Arcot and lives in the historic palace of his ancestors, 'Amir Mahal', in Royapetta h in the city of Chennai (Madras), India. Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali was recognised by His Excellency the President of India, as “HIS HIGHNESS THE PRINCE OF ARCOT”. He was the Sheriff of Madras for two separate terms, in the year 1984-85 and 1988. He is a well known committed social activist, involved in many social, cultural and religious institutions in the country. The Prince is the Founder Secretary-General of 'Harmony India', a registered Association formed in 1990 to promote communal amity, secularism and national integration. The Prince has been the recipient of many awards for social service, including the National Unity Award from His Excellency the Governor of Tamil Nadu on many occasions. He was the recipient of "For the Sake of Honour" award from the Rotary Club. His Highness the Prince of Arcot was the distinguished Chief Guest at Mother Teresa Inter - Faith Annual Meet, held in Auckland, New Zealand in 2013 to promote Peace and Love as an ambassador of India.
Rev. Dr. N. Casimir Raj S.J. holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from St.Louis University, St. Louis, USA. He was the Founder Director of LIBAand former Principal of Loyola College, Chennai. He has also been Director of XIM Bhubaneswar. He has made significant contribution as founder of Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), developed the institution from 53rd position to 9th at the national level during his leadership. The institution extends its resources to all aspiring business administrators at various levels. After his valuable contribution to LIBA, he extended his service to Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) as Director where his untiring, creative and skillful leadership elevated the standard of the institution to 6th position at national level. As an educationist, he has been teaching marketing to the students for the past three decades in various institutions: XLRI, Jamshedpur, St.Louis University, Missouri and Wheeling Jesuit College, Wheeling, USA. Rev.Dr. Casimir Raj S.J. is widely regarded as an authority in marketing with numerous publications to his credit.
Mr. Wenceslaus Anthony is the Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit awarded by the Government of New Zealand in Queen's Honour List in recognition of his services to New Zealand - India relations. He is the Founder Chairman of India - New Zealand Friendship Association and Chairman of Multicultural New Zealand Business Advisory Board. He is the Director on the Board of Bank of Baroda (NZ). He was one of the Key members of the NZ Prime Minister Rt.Hon. John Key’s state visit to India in 2011. He is the Advisory Board Member of New Zealand India Research Institute, Victoria University of Wellington, the Chairman & Managing Director of WAML Group Ltd and Chairman and Director of Pact Industries Pty Limited, in Australia. Having previously worked very closely with the late Mother Teresa, he is the Chair of the Mother Teresa Inter - Faith Committee in Auckland and also the Chairperson of Conquest Club, working with 11 to 14 year old boys to build and shape their character for being “Leaders for Tomorrow”. Before Migrating to New Zealand in 1999 in India he was the Deputy Director and Secretary of Board of Studies in Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Loyola College and Chief Operating Officer of Mono Type India Ltd.
Mr. P.Murari, retired as Secretary to the President of India in August 1992. At present he is the Adviser to President, FICCI - Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, a member on the Advisory Board – Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Member - Chennai Port Trust Advisory Committee, Member - Chennai Airport Advisory Committee. He was the Former Chairman - Centre State Relations Committee appointed by GOI and Former President - Indo-American Association. He has a Masters in Economics from Madras University, completed his State Civil Service in 1955, and Indian Administrative Service in the year 1957. His main areas of Specialisation include general industrial administration, formulation of industrial policies, administration of public sector and cooperative sector industrial undertakings including sick units, health and family planning sector management, energy sector, financial administration and food processing. He has held Major positions in Government both at the Centre and in Tamil Nadu and is currently Independent Director on a number of private sector companies. Mr.Murari was Awarded Census of India Medal in 1963 by the President of India.
FORENOON SESSION
Rt. Hon. SirAnand Satyanand GNZM QSO KStJ is now the Chair of the Commonwealth Foundation. He was New Zealand's 19th Governor-General (Head of State) and 1st Governor-General of Indian descent. He has had a lengthy career as a lawyer, judge and ombudsman as well as contributing to many community, professional and sporting groups. During his time as a Judge, he was involved in the development of judicial orientation and professional education programmes and served as a Prison Board Chairman and on the National Parole Board. He was also a member of the Council of New Zealand Rugby League. In international affairs, he served on the governance boards of the Asia - New Zealand Foundation and the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs and Transparency International. In January 2011, he received the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award from the President of India for his contribution as a member of the Indian Diaspora.
Mr. J.K. Dadoo is the Joint Secretary & DGAD, Government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. He was the Joint Secretary, FT (Australia and New Zealand), Trade Promotion (National Centre for Trade Information, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade), EP (Electronics & Computer Software), Council for Leather Exports, Telecom Equipment & Services EPC, Chairman, Sports Goods Export Promotion Council and Director General Anti-Dumping and Subsidies, Board of Safeguards. He was also the Administrator, Lakshadweep Islands, Equivalent to Head of State during 2009-11. He has a BA(Hons) in Economics from St. Stephen's College and MBA, from IIM, Ahmedabad. He is about to complete his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
Mr. Grahame Morton joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) in 1996. Mr. Grahame was announced as New Zealand's High Commissioner designate in March 2014 by Hon. Murray McCully, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Prior to his current role, he was the Director General and Divisional Manager, North Asia Division, MFAT, Wellington (2011-14). He was the Head of China, Asia Division, MFAT, Wellington (2009-2010) and Deputy Director, Australia Division, MFATWellington (2007-2009). He also held the position of First Secretary, New Zealand Embassy, Beijing (2004-2007). In addition to his official roles, he has also been a board member and contributor to a number of New Zealand Universities and public and private sector affiliated organisations. He holds a first class Honours degree in History from Otago University. His other interests include cricket, golf, history, travel, gardening, music and rugby.
AFTERNOON SESSION
Mr.Mark Powell is originally from South Wales in the United Kingdom. He migrated permanently to New Zealand when he joined The Warehouse Group in November 2002. He has been involved with The Warehouse since 2002 in various full-time, part-time and advisory capacities, including Interim CEO of the Australian operations, Group General Manager, Supply Chain and Merchandise Planning and CEO of Warehouse Stationery. Mr. Mark was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of The Warehouse Group Limited (TW Group) in May 2011. He has Bachelor degrees in Mining Engineering and Theology, and Masters Degrees in Logistics (from Cranfield) and Business (an MBAwith distinction, from Cardiff). He has also attended strategic leadership courses at Harvard and INSEAD.
Mr. Clayton Kimpton is the Consul-General to Dubai and Regional Director: India, Middle East, and Africa. Mr. Clayton, as a senior commercial advisor has over 24 years' experience in all areas of commercial negotiation, international trade, employment, industrial relations, health and safety and governance. He specializes in commercial negotiation, dispute resolution and industrial relations strategy. He has a background in negotiation and dispute resolution, including difficult and sensitive issues for commercial parties. He has a unique depth of commercial experience in industrial relations, commercial and corporate governance issues. He joined NZTE from law firm Kensington Swan, where he was Chief Executive Partner. He led Kensington Swan's international trade programme both for New Zealand clients and for Kensington Swan. Mr. Clayton has advised on the effects and implications of the investment regimes under the proposed free trade agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Mr. Bhav Dhillon is a qualified MBA having broad international experience of travelling and doing business in Singapore, Finland, Germany, Holland, Middle East, USA, UK, India, Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia. Currently, he is the Managing Director of construction product manufacturer CEMIX, with operations spread throughout NZ and expanding into Australia. CEMIX is New Zealand's largest bagged cement products manufacturer. Mr.Bhav is also the Chair of “There's a Better Way Foundation”(www.theresabetterway.org.nz). He works closely with NZ Police, Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA), Child Youth & Family (CYF), YMCA and other likeminded organisations for creating pathways for positive change among youth at risk of gang culture and drugs. He is also the Treasurer of India New Zealand Business Council and the Vice -President of the New Zealand India Friendship Association based in New Zealand.
NEWZEALAND EXCLUSIVE
Mr. Kevin McKenna is currently the New Zealand Consul General and Trade Commissioner, West and South India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Based in Mumbai, Mr.Kevin is responsible for developing and protecting the interests of New Zealanders and NZ companies in western and southern India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. Prior to this he was Executive General Manager, Middle East, India and Asia for Transfield Services. Transfield is a global provider of operations, maintenance and construction services to the resources, energy, industrial, infrastructure, property and defence sectors. Prior to working in the Middle East and India, Mr. Kevin held various roles within Transfield including General Manager Roads (Australia and New Zealand) and Executive Director (New Zealand). Prior to that he was a Consulting Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers in New Zealand. He has held several directorships including HIISL, India. Mr. Kevin is a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit and is also a former Wing Commander of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
Mr. Sameer Handa has 29 years' experience in management and leadership roles in various countries across several industries. Mr Handa has also gained knowledge and understanding of international trade through his work experience in Middle East, Fiji, India, Australia and NZ. He has been in the current role as Group CEO with Patton Ltd, NZ for the past 16 years. Under his leadership, the Patton Group has expanded their presence in Australia, the Middle East and has entered into new growth markets like South East Asia via Bangkok and India. He is a member of the Institute of Directors (NZ) and is on the board of several subsidiary companies in Australia, Thailand and India. In New Zealand, he is on the board of Bank of India (NZ) and trust board of Refrigerant Recovery NZ Ltd. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Sydney University.
Mr. Ashish Trivedi, is the Chief Executive Officer and one of the founding directors of Newton College of Business and Technology (NCBT), Auckland. NCBT is a category 1 Private Training Establishment in education performance and capabilities in self-assessment based improvements. He has been working in the export education Industry focussing on the Indian Sub-Continent since the time student numbers from India were under 600 per year- now over 15000 per year. He has a Bachelors degree in Commerce and Masters in Business Administration from India. He is also a founder executive of International Education Group and involved in various business and community organisations providing inputs into some of the government policy decisions around export education by representing industry bodies in various peak body forums of Immigration NZ and New Zealand Qualifications Authority. Mr.Ashish is also director of NZ Xtreme - a company promoting Adventure theme parks in South East of Asia. He has experience in the areas such as finance, marketing and Info- Tech, working in middle and senior management positions in India, prior to migrating to New Zealand.
Mr. Steve Dsouza is the Chairman and Managing Director, Kalamazoo Group of companies that include Stocklink, Wickliffe, Wyatt and Wilson among 12 other. He also has other business interest in India in Automobiles, Print consumables and Oil trading. He is an active member with Mother Teresa Inter - Faith Committee and the Divine Retreat Centre. His favourite line is “God is Good”.

 

 

Mr Ashish Hemrajani, Founder, Book My Show and Advisor, Indian BeachHeads Advisory Board, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
Dr Parmjeet Parmar is a Member of the New Zealand Parliament who was elected at the 2014 General Election as a representative of the New Zealand National Party. Dr Parmar has experience as a scientist, businesswoman, broadcaster and community advocate with over 20 years professional experience. She was born in India and migrated to New Zealand in 1995. She holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Auckland, as well as Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of Pune in India. Before her election to Parliament, Dr Parmar has been the Operations Director of her Auckland based manufacturing business and also served as a Families Commissioner, Chair of an association helping victims of domestic violence and Community Representative on the Film and Video Labelling Body.
