Independence Day 2024
The 78th Independence Day celebrations were held on 15th August 2024, at Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA). A dispositional prayer and a prayer song set the tone for the festivities, followed by the Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu. Prof. P.C. Lakshmi Narayanan, Dean-Academics, delivered an inspiring address on India’s rise to become the fifth-largest economy in the world and its vision for the future. In keeping with LIBA’s tradition of honouring long-serving staff members, the flag was hoisted by Mr. M. Ravi, who has been with LIBA for 22 years. The ceremony continued with a rendition of the Preamble led by Rev. Fr. Y. Poondy Rajan, Finance Controller, and a dance performance by INARA that portrayed the struggles of the nation’s freedom fighters. Reflections by Ms. Abarnakani from the F24 Batch and the LIBA anthem performed by the choir brought the event to a close. The event honoured the moment when India gained its freedom and paid tribute to those who sacrificed for our liberty.
