Faculty Seminar Series (FSS) – 3
The third session of the Faculty Seminar Series (FSS-03) took place on 3rd October 2024. Dr. P. Vasumathi presented her research on the “Impact of Entrepreneurial Role Models on Entrepreneurial Outcomes,” examining how gender-matched role models affect male and female students’ outcomes, grounded in Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT). Utilizing a two-stage quantitative analysis with pre-course and post-course surveys, the study grounded in Social Cognitive Career Theory, revealed that female students with access to female role models experienced increased entrepreneurial outcomes, while male students showed a decline in intention. Faculty members offered constructive feedback on the research and its implications for enhancing the entrepreneurship curriculum, emphasizing the need for greater access to entrepreneurial role models, particularly for women.
