Hands-on Training Program on “Organic Soap Making” for Tribal Women
On 13th February 2025, Prof. C.K. Prahalad Centre for Emerging India (CKPC) at LIBA, in collaboration with Jesuit Migrant Service (JMS), conducted a hands-on training program on “Organic Soap Making” for 30 tribal women in Kadambathur, Tiruvallur district, under the guidance of Rev. Fr. C. Joe Arun, SJ, Director – LIBA, supported by Rev. Fr. Y. Poondy Rajan, SJ, Finance Controller – LIBA. The session began with a welcome address by Fr. Packiaraj, SJ, followed by Dr. E. Pradeep, who emphasized the significance of the training. Trainer Ms. Sathya introduced the process of making nine different variants of organic bath soaps using natural herbs for various skin types. The participants actively engaged in the process, learning valuable skills to produce high-quality soaps, leaving the women motivated and confident in their newfound abilities, contributing to both sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment.
