Industrial Visit to Daimler India Commercial Vehicles

The Operations students of LIBA (F24) visited the Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) manufacturing plant in Oragadam on 11th November 2025, as part of the Strategic Sourcing & Supply Management course. During the visit, they interacted with Mr. Michael Moebius, President and Chief Procurement & Supply Chain Officer at DICV, who shared key insights on the commercial vehicle industry, supplier management strategies, operational processes, and the requirements for global OEMs operating in the Indian market. The discussion also covered the role of AI in procurement, the integration of electric vehicles, and DICV’s export operations. Students toured the manufacturing facility and observed the assembly processes for heavy and medium-duty trucks, gaining firsthand exposure to manufacturing systems, automation, and quality procedures. This visit effectively bridged classroom learning with real-world industry structures, reinforcing the academic objectives of the course.
