Annual Alumni Meet – 2018
Re-Living Seasons In The Sun!
“If a picture could speak a thousand words……these would speak ten thousand”!
The Annual Alumni Meet 2018 was a memorable event held on 10th February, Saturday at the OAT on the LIBA campus. An evening filled with excited LIBAites celebrating the shared bond of love for their Alma Mater, which made the campus come alive with their whoops of cheer and howls of laughter on meeting old friends, professors and staff who had a special place in their hearts and memories. Though the evening began a little behind schedule, no one was complaining, since smiles lit up faces and vigorous handshakes, pats on the backs and hugs were exchanged. So engrossed were the Alumni in “re-living their seasons in the sun” that they had to be cajoled into coming forward to pay attention to the formal proceedings as the Prayer Song marked the opening of the evening’s program. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp by LIBA Director – Fr. Christie, Prof. Dr. Vandana Zachariah, Alumni Committee member Ms. Mansa Pillai and Ms. Tricia.
Fr. Christie was thrilled with the turnout of a large number of Alumni from all batches, right from AA batch (Full time) and B Batch (Part time) to the recent F15 batch which also won the trophy for the batch with the most number of participants. In his address to the gathering Fr. Christie expressed with emphasis the important role of the Alumni in the progress and rating of an institution. Following this, prizes were distributed to the early birds who were first to register themselves for the event. After short presentations by the current students and Alumni the formal program ended with a short speech by Prof. Dr. Vandana Zachariah and a vote of thanks by Mr. Jakin Durai – Vice President Alumni Committee. Dinner and games proceeded with more stories and fellowship filling the air! Alumni along with families (spouses and kids) could be found taking pictures, selfies, group shots and videos trying to capture the essence of the LIBA spirit of Excellence that surrounded them. All in all that was what the evening was – one of Excitement and Enthusiasm and it was undoubtedly Excellent!!
