Inaugural Faculty Seminar Series Session
The Inaugural Faculty Seminar Session (FSS) 25 was held on 20th August 2025. Dr. C. Joe Arun, SJ, Director-LIBA, presented an insightful seminar on the theme “TFH” Redefining Intelligence for Business. Fr. Director discussed the limitations of current AI, emphasizing its inability to replicate human cognition, emotions, and moral reasoning. He outlined major brain theories like the Neuron Doctrine and Global Workspace Theory, highlighting that AI is a simulation machine, while the human brain is an understanding machine. The seminar focused on Tools for Humanity (TFH), a biometric identity verification initiative using the Orb device, designed to ensure humans, not bots, engage in digital transactions. Fr. Director concluded by urging businesses to adopt anthropocentric AI, ensuring technology enhances, rather than replaces, human uniqueness. This session inspired faculty and researchers to reflect on the intersection of philosophy, neuroscience, and technology in shaping the future of business.
