Lead Change
On 23 January, a one-day workshop titled LEAD-CHANGE for Student Leaders of Loyola college institutions was conducted by LIBA. It was part of mandated programmes of Year of Youth by Jesuit Chennai Province. Students from Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Loyola College of Arts & Science, Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering, and Loyola College of Education attended the event. The theme was “Am I the Voice of Democracy”, in which students were asked to reflect upon how they should promote democracy. In the beginning of the workshop, Fr Joe Arun explained the concept of democracy and the ways in which the students could become the voice of democracy in today’s context where post-truth, populism and polarization produced autocrats. Key speakers, Mr. Ezhilan Naganathan, MLA Thousand Lights Constituency, Mr. Sujith Kumar, AVP HR Business Leader at Infosys and Mr. Amalraj IPS, Additional DGP of Tamil Nadu, Commissioner of Police, Tambaram city addressed the student leaders on their experience of promoting democracy. It was initially inaugurated by Fr Rector in the presence of all the Unit Directors and Fr Packiaraj, Coordinator of Year of Youth events in the campus.
