Workshop on the Eradication of Ragging
On 26th June 2025, Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) conducted a workshop on the eradication of ragging at the Dr. S. Xavier Britto Auditorium, aimed at raising awareness among students about the dangers and consequences of ragging in educational institutions. Organised as part of AICTE compliance, the workshop was a proactive initiative to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. The session was addressed by Prof. P.C. Lakshmi Narayanan, Dean – Academics, who spoke in detail about the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Ragging Act, the UGC Guidelines – 2009, and the broader menace of ragging, emphasizing its psychological and social impact on victims. Prof. Lakshmi Narayanan also highlighted the importance of fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus culture, urging students to act as responsible members of the LIBA community. The workshop served as a vital step in reinforcing LIBA’s commitment to student welfare and campus safety, in alignment with national efforts and AICTE mandates to make higher education institutions free from fear, harassment, and discrimination.
