Bangalore Chapter Alumni Meet 2019
“An enriching an exciting get-together!”
17th November, 2019 was an exciting day for the LIBA alumni residing at Bangalore! About 40 alumni from across batches met for a reunion at Patel’s Inn, to make great memories: swapping stories and experiences of their days and times spent on the campus of LIBA.
The formal proceedings began with a Prayer Song by Ms. Nikita Maria Emmanuela, daughter of Alumnus Mr. Naveen Thomas. What made the experience even more enriching was the presence of Rev. Fr. Joe Arun, the recently appointed new Director of LIBA. His infectious enthusiasm and address to the Alumni brought them up to speed with all the latest happening in their Alma Mater.
Rev. Fr. Director shared with Alumni specific information regarding changes in Infrastructure, Ranking, new Initiatives etc. Besides this, Rev. Fr. Director also shared his plans for Alumni such as providing a new spacious Alumni Office once the new LIBA building is ready, rooms for Alumni to stay at when visiting campus and special Learning and Training programmes for Alumni to participate in. He also stressed on the need for the Alumni – Industry connect to be strengthened.
Prof. Dr. Vandana Zachariah – Chair of the Alumni Association, was happy with the turnout of a number of Alumni from across batches and thanked them all for coming for the 4th Bangalore Chapter Alumni Meet. An ice breaker session was conducted by Mr. (Mike) Murali to connect the various batches present. Ms. Monisha Aluvilla was the MC for the day.
Nominations were then invited for change of Executive Committee members, following which a new team of office bearers were formed. The new Executive committee members are: Ms. Anjali Pais – President, Mr. Mathew Parambil – Vice President, Mr. Karun Thachil – Secretary, Mr. Thomas Ramapuram – Treasurer, Mr. Madhavan Shanmugam – Member, Mr. Benny Sharon – Member, Mr. Naveen Thomas – Member, Mr. Thomas Jesudasan – Member and Mr. Mario Monteiro – Member.
The formal program ended with Prof. Dr. Vandana Zachariah distributing souvenirs to all Alumni followed by a sumptuous lunch with more fellowship and photo sessions.
Also, this year’s venue was special because it had ample scope for family activities such as Go Karting, Lazer Maze and other activities that the alumni could perform with their children. Post the formal lunch, it was wonderful to see many of the alumni enjoy the venue with their families. Everyone present agreed that they had a fabulous time and that it was surely an exciting and enriching experience which will be added to their cherished memories of LIBA!
