Industrial Visit to LOM Supply Chain

On 26th July 2025, students from the Operations specialization at LIBA visited LOM Supply Chain (India) Pvt. Ltd., located at the J Matadee Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ), Sriperumbudur, to connect classroom learning with real-world logistics practices. The visit aimed to help students observe transportation and warehouse management operations, interact with industry professionals for insights into current trends and challenges, and witness the application of advanced technology and automation in enhancing efficiency. Mr. Prasad, Chief – Regulatory Affairs, delivered an informative session on warehouse classifications, relevant legal frameworks, and FTWZ operations under the SEZ Act. The process walkthrough covered inbound logistics, inventory storage using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), outbound logistics, and value-added services such as kitting, labelling, and packaging. Students also learned about FTWZ features like customs duty deferment, re-export provisions, and integrated supply chain operations, thereby reinforcing theoretical concepts with practical exposure.
